Why is it i am constantly on the hunt for ‘the one’? After several years of trialling, i am still on the look out for that perfect foundation. So many half used bottles piled high collecting dust in my drawers and no where closer to finding what I’m looking for.
I have oily/combination skin and finding the foundation with the right texture, finish and long lasting result is a bigger challenge than i anticipated. I have trialled a wide range from highstreet to premium. (Listed below)
Its come to the point where i wonder, am i asking for the impossible?
All i want is medium coverage, long lasting, shine control and with a dewy finish. My skincare routine currently is the La Roche Posay Effaclar range. Which is such good value for money, it gently cleanses without feeling too harsh and leaves my skin feeling fresh and light. I cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day and use a SMASHBOX oil free primer under my foundation.
SMASHBOX LIQUID HALO £27.50- quite heavy coverage, thick in texture, not very easy to apply.
REVLON PHOTOREADY £12.99 – good coverage, shimmer finish suitable for photos and gives a dewy finish but no shine control.
MAYBELLINE FIT £7.99- worst foundation for oily skin – slides off your face
NO.7 STAY PERFECT £14.50- easy to apply, medium coverage but no shine control – slides off your face
MAC PROLONG WEAR £25.00 – too thick for everyday,
YSL TOUCHE ECLAT £29.00- no shine control, easy to apply and smooth texture
So my journey continues, next on my hit list are;
Laura Mercier – oil free supreme foundation
Revlon – Colourstay
Has anyone used these before? Would love to hear how you got on?
