Minty Fresh

Pastel colours come and go every year in spring and like clockwork we  find ourselves shopping for this colour palette once again. This year however, a certain colour has made a larger presence on the high street than the others, MINT!

This soft green is perfect for the spring the inbetween weather that comes with it. Sometimes it’s warm and other times it looks bright, but is absolutely freezing when you step outside. As us Brits will always dress optimistically in the spring in hope that the sun will come out at any moment we need colours that cater for both these extremes.

Mint has a perfect summer feel yet works well with heavier fabrics too. You can wear this colour in knits, denim and boucle for a warm yet fresh look, perfect for spring. Or in lace, sheer fabric such as blouses or basic Cotton tee’s.

Mark Fast and Mulberry have used a strong presence of mint in their SS13 collections. I love the mint on mint combination with mulberry and in contrast to this love how Mark Fast has put together lilac and mint. They make a great combination, especially with the chunky gold jewellery!!

I have spotted some fabulous mint coloured accessories over the weekend, ALDO have a small collection of bags in this colour and some lovely coloured jewellery. I love the studded oversized clutch and the pastel studded earrings.

I’m a sucker for nail varnishes so you wont be shocked that a mint nail polish is a must have for me this summer! Barry M, Essie and Illamasqua all have a very cute range of candy nail colours.

Mint framed Ray-ban sunglasses are perfect for those warmer days or for those who love their flats, these mint coloured high tops would love adorable with some denim shorts and a casual tee!
